relationships that last, faith that moves mountains
On September 11, 2001 Jarod and Jennifer Smith surrendered their lives to Jesus following the attack on the World Trade Center. Jarod and Jennifer were both serving on active duty in the US Army stationed at Fort Hood, Texas. In 2004, after completing a tour of duty in Iraq they began pursing the call to ministry and enrolled at Johnson University in Knoxville, TN. From that point Jarod and Jennifer, along with their two children, began a 10 year journey together that led to ministry opportunities in Tennessee, Texas, and most recently Kansas. In the summer of 2015, while serving as the worship pastor of LifeMission Church outside of Kansas City, Jarod and Jennifer responded to the call God laid upon their hearts to start a church in the Nashville area. On Father’s Day weekend June 6, 2016, Jarod and his family were commissioned and sent by LifeMission Church to start New Tribe Church in Mt. Juliet. In addition to Jarod and his family making the move to launch New Tribe, 12 others comprised of individuals and families, made the move from the Kansas City area and as far north as Michigan! Together, we launched New Tribe Church on January 8, 2017!
Our first worship service was January 8, 2017. New Tribe Church is a community of Jesus followers committed to building relationships that last and encouraging faith that moves mountains. We believe a cord of three strands is not easily broken, that the power of God moves where two or more are gathered in Jesus’ name by faith, and that through faith together we will see mountains moved! We believe the church is God’s way for us to accomplish more together than we ever could alone. And, we’re just getting started…
