Our Pastor
On September 11, 2001 Jarod and Jennifer were both serving active duty in the military
during the attack on the World Trade Center. That day forever changed
the way they understood the world and their purpose.
Looking for answers, they turned to God. Praying together on the floor of their small apartment, they surrendered their lives to Jesus and discovered the love and power of God! Little did they know how God would direct the course of their lives over the next 15 years as they served together in ministry before planting New Tribe. In 2016, a small group of about 15 people relocated to the Nashville area from Kansas City with Pastor Jarod and his family to help start a life-giving, Spirit-empowered church in the Nashville area. The first pre-launch team meeting was in their living room.
Then, as the team began to grow, a few meetings were held at a Holiday Inn conference room. The first public worship service took place in a renovated funeral home in 2017! After outgrowing that space, New Tribe moved into what used to be an old YMCA , and in 2020, expanded yet again in to a larger space previously used as an in-door bounce house venue. New Tribe was displaced in 2021 by a devastating flood and lost everything! But our people endured, pulled together, and we were able to renovate and move back in to our current location. In just a few years’ time we’ve been continually amazed at how fast New Tribe continues to grow, even in the face of adversity! When someone asks, “what is behind the name New Tribe?,” we tell them, “we’re all about people”. All kinds and all types of people who are being made “new” through a life changing relationship with Jesus. It’s about family. A new kind of family where faith grows, hope is served, and love rules! We’re just getting started and there is a place here just for you! In fact, you are the reason we are here.
